What Is Nutri-Mastic™? The Science Behind the Intact Line

The proprietary fermentation foundation under every Intact-line product. Here's what it actually is, what's in it, and what the science actually supports.

The shortest answer.

Nutri-Mastic™ is a proprietary blend of two ingredients:

1. Mastic gum — the dried resin of Pistacia lentiscus, a Mediterranean tree cultivated on the Greek island of Chios for over 2,500 years.
2. Seawater-derived ionic minerals — potassium, sodium, magnesium, calcium, chloride, sulfate, plus trace minerals in a full functional panel.

That's it. Two ingredients. No proprietary-blend secrecy, no filler grains, no thickeners. The full ingredient panel and supplement facts are on the back label of every Intact-line product. The mineral content is verified by a published Certificate of Analysis we'll send to anyone who asks.

Now let's talk about what each half actually does.

The mastic gum half.

Mastic gum is one of the oldest documented herbal materials in continuous human use. The tree it comes from — Pistacia lentiscus — is cultivated almost exclusively on the southern half of the island of Chios in the Aegean Sea, and has been for thousands of years. The resin is harvested by hand: tappers make small cuts in the bark, and "tears" of resin form on the trunk over the summer, which are then collected, sorted, and processed.

In Mediterranean traditional medicine, mastic gum was used for digestive support — chewed for what we'd now call gut comfort, brewed into tinctures for stomach issues, and applied topically. The Roman physicians wrote about it. So did the Byzantine medical texts. So did the Ottoman ones. The continuous documented use is genuinely remarkable; not many botanical ingredients have a track record measured in millennia.

Modern research has examined mastic gum for its role in supporting normal gut microbial balance, the body's normal response to stress, and oral health. The publications are not new; they go back decades.

The ionic mineral half.

Most supplement minerals are delivered as mineral salts — magnesium oxide, calcium carbonate, sodium chloride. These are stable, shelf-friendly, and inexpensive. They're also relatively poorly absorbed: the body has to break the salt apart in the gut before the mineral can be taken up by cells.

Ionic minerals are different. They're already in the dissociated form the body recognizes — carrying electrical charge, in the same state they need to be in to cross cellular membranes. Seawater is one of the few naturally occurring sources of ionic minerals in a full balanced panel: potassium, sodium, magnesium, calcium, chloride, sulfate, plus trace minerals like bromine, boron, vanadium, and fluoride in smaller amounts.

The seawater-derived ionic mineral component in Nutri-Mastic™ is sourced from a clean ocean intake, processed to remove the sodium content down to standard supplemental levels, and delivered alongside the mastic gum in the final blend.

For the human SKUs (Intact Digest™ and Intact Endurance™), the published assay (Certificate of Analysis) shows approximately 360 mg of elemental magnesium per ¾-teaspoon serving, plus the full ionic panel. That's roughly a full adult daily intake of magnesium in one dose, which is why most of our human customers take the product in the evening — magnesium is widely recognized in published research for supporting normal sleep quality and overnight muscle relaxation.

What "absorption" actually means.

Here's the simplest way to think about it. Every supplement has two numbers: what's in the bottle, and what makes it into your body. Standard mineral salts close that gap with a relatively low conversion rate. Ionic minerals close it with a higher one, because the mineral is already in the form the body recognizes.

What it isn't.
